Sunday’s class is themed specifically around pregnancy, birth and postnatal recovery.
We focus on how to relax and on moving and breathing in ways that support our pelvis and its organs. The class includes relaxation, meditation and flowing yoga sequences suitable for any level of practice and experience. A light lunch and cup of tea is included.
The class runs in blocks of six, addressing the following themes:
- Rest and Relaxation – How and Why
- The ‘Pelvic Diamond’ (aka pelvic floor)
- Postural Awareness and ‘Normal’ Curves
- Releasing tension from the head, neck and shoulders
- Abdominal strength, balance and self care.
- Finding (and freeing) Your Feet
It is interesting to encounter each theme at different stages of your mothering journey – pre-conception/first trimester, second trimester, third trimester, ‘fourth trimester’ (postpartum) and beyond. Variations are given for individuals whilst holding space for the shared experience of growing into motherhood.
In most cases, women are welcome at all stages of pregnancy including pre-conception and postpartum but I encourage everyone who is new to Mother Nurture Yoga to complete the registration form below so I can contact you and discuss the suitability of the class before you come along for the first time.
